I wanted to push myself into a piece I didn't feel confident in. Flipping through my sketchbook a theme kept emerging, a hand extended into space. A single question kept looping: whose story is it?
 
Is it a cry for rescue or a request for help? A surrender or a show of strength? This piece became a mirror. Do you step forward and help? Do you ask what they need or do you linger on the edge afraid to get pulled in?
 
My hope is that standing before it the viewer feels a quiet summons to claim a role. Connection is always a two-way crossing.
