A muse can be the air an artist needs to live

Ever year is the same. The hints of spring start to peak through and every year one hopes this is finally spring. But then that last blast, which I like to call 5th winter, comes and sends me into a melancholy mood.

April always signals a time of reflection, a time of great past losses and a reminder that time is precious.

So April is always a renewal of motivation for me.

What have I been up to this winter?

Well I surprised myself and found a way to keep my motivation this year.

Over the last few months I have been quite busy with creating. I found it helps me to stick to smaller pieces. It's enough to keep me engaged but not overwhelming. I have been practicing with taking photos of them also.

So I will be uploading some paintings over the next few days.

Although I'm still having issues with the photography part, it's getting better.

I also decided it was time to start getting back out in my own community and have taken on a piece that will be sold to support my local art council.

My idea of writing down my ideas has really helped also. I was fortunate enough over the last few months to be around a few of the people that seem to get my creative brain excited. So have way to many ideas and not enough time.

From people I've just met to ones I've known for awhile It's good to be able to get out and about again.

This year my holidays were pushed back to accommodate an installation but sadly was cancelled in the end. So my need to escape for awhile Is on high alert. Instead of a nice Greek getaway it's looking like I will be venturing out into the America's.

This trip causes me more trepidation than any of my other solo adventures. Most of it is from preconceived notions of what to expect. So trying to let those go and go into this will an open mind.

Jackie ❤️
