Commissions
If something in the gallery sparked an idea, or if you have something specific in mind, I'm open to discussing it.
I work across acrylic, watercolour, ink and digital. I take on a wide range of subjects, landscapes, still life, conceptual work, cityscapes, animals, figurative work. I don't take portrait commissions as a general rule. Portraits are personal and unforgiving if they don't land exactly right, and I'd rather be honest about that upfront than disappoint you.
Past commissioned work includes a 60" x 135" digital painting for the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, merchandise design for Arts Council Wood Buffalo, and work featured in Circe Magazine. I'm comfortable working at scale and to a brief.
How it works:
Start by sending me a concept submission through the contact form. Tell me what you have in mind, subject, size, medium if you have a preference, timeline and budget. I'll let you know if it's a good fit before we go any further. This saves us both time.
If we move forward: a 30% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins. You get one free revision at the sketch stage and one at the midway point. Additional revisions after that are $60 each. A further 20% is due at the midway review and the remainder is due upon completion before shipping or pickup.
I work primarily over email. Given my schedule a call-based process doesn't work well but I'm responsive and thorough in writing.
Base Pricing Guide
Prices are based on materials and time and may vary depending on complexity, reference material and timeline. A firm quote will be provided before anything is agreed.
Acrylic:
Small, up to 8x10: $120 to $160
Medium, up to 16x20: $300 to $500
Large, 24x24 and up: $750 to $800
Oil:
Available on request, quoted individually.
Watercolour and Ink:
Small, up to 8x10: $95 to $150
Medium, up to 16x20: $250 to $300
Digital:
Quoted per piece based on complexity and scope. Starting from $200 for simple illustrations. Large format and commercial work quoted on request.
Custom Paper and Stationery:
I offer custom stationery for personal and business use, from bulk orders of existing designs to fully original custom pieces.
Existing designs, bulk orders:
20 or more cards: $5 per card
50 or more cards: $4 per card
100 or more cards: $3 per card
Envelopes included. Available in existing card varieties or any of my images not yet in the card range, just ask.
Original custom designs:
A new design is priced as a watercolour or ink commission per the guidelines above, plus print costs. Standard quality uses a local Fort McMurray printer. Higher end quality and custom colour matching is available through a major city print lab and will be quoted separately.
Bookmarks, custom envelopes and other stationery items available on request.
